- REBOUND -

I am not a fan of Tom Cruise but I most certainly am a fan of Cameron Diaz so to say I went to check it out with Atie by going to see KNIGHT AND DAY is an understatement. I am however happy to report that fans of action-comedy-thrillers will find a few things to love about this film even if you are not a very big fan of the two main leads.

In the action-comedy Knight & Day, Tom Cruise is a covert agent and Cameron Diaz is a woman caught between him and those he claims set him up. As their globetrotting adventure erupts into a maze of double-crosses, close escapes, false identities, and head-spinning romantic snafus, they come to realize that all they can count on is each other.

The easiest way I can describe this movie is Mission Impossible with a side order of Mr & Mrs Smith. Cameron Diaz plays her typical ‘hot but awkward female’ role and Tom Cruise plays the typical dashing ass kicking hero. Despite the fact that the romantic dynamic between the two leads in this film is about as believable as a three dollar bill overall you will get out of this movie what you might expect. Lots of over the top action, witty one liners, corny one liners, a few groans, a few laughs and a hefty body count as Knight & Day unfolds. I will admit I was quite surprised in the first half of the film how well Tom Cruise played out his character and how well done the dialogue was. I am used to Tom Cruise throwing out cliché one liner after one liner similar to a John Travolta movie but for a change he played a less smug character and instead was witty, funny and very entertaining. As the film progresses it become a bit Mission Impossible and loses sight on the dialogue to focus on the action but overall I must admit it worked and Tom Cruise the actor I love to show no love did a pretty good job.

Cameron Diaz on the other hand once again underwhelms as June and brought back flashbacks of What Happens in Vegas which was easily one of her worst roles. Cameron unfortunately does not cut it as the ‘cute girl next door’ anymore and she lacks the acting chops to deliver in any kind of film it seems. Something About Mary in my books is her only good film and clearly if your being upstaged by Tom Cruise its time to think about things.

Regardless I am getting off on a bit of a tangent. Knight and Day is sure to appeal to fans of Mission Impossible and Mr & Mrs Smith as the two main characters go on a cross continent expedition with a few interesting twists and plenty of chuckles. Although its not going to win any awards and may not tear up the box office ( we will have to wait and see ) its worth checking out. If your a Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz fan I think its safe to say you will REALLY enjoy this flick.

So, I was comparing Tom Cruise and my gorgeous Ashton Kutcher, after back-to-back movie marathon; explaining to Nanayau and Copot how hot Ashton is in Killers. Seriously, he's that HOT! *drool*

There were no words I could explain to describe his hotness in that movie. He's gorgeous and goofy at the same time, any woman couldn't resist that!

Nanayau: Shazu..(dgn muka risau)
CheMek: Yeah?

Nanayau: (pegang tangan atas meja) Kau tengah rebound Ariel ni..

CheMek:
(-_-')

Eclipse, Rob Pattinson, please be here pronto! Tak sanggup curang lagi! Haha!

- DATE -

I'm on rebel mode. I took a day off today, just because I don't feel like going to the office and face that jerk. He wants the report? Just a simple apology would do. Call me childish? Just slam the damn door then. So what did I do?

I had a date with my lover- the cinema.

Another action comedy film out in the cinema now besides Bounty Hunter.

In this film, Ashton Kutcher plays as a CIA agent who decides to retire when he met a beautiful woman named Jennifer whom he later married. Unfortunately, shortly after the wedding, Spencer is pursued by killers who know his identity as ex-CIA agent and try to finish him off.

The plot is quite simple to follow, with a bit of a twist towards the end. Nothing too shocking. Actually, the reason people will be watching this film is because of the on-screen chemistry between the couple Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, and not forgetting Aston’s delicious body to show. *drool*

Although title sounds quite serious, this show is not meant to be taken seriously. A right dose of comedy and actions proves that Killers can actually it pull off. Although not as great as Date Night, it’s much better than Bounty Hunter and it’s good enough to be recommended as a fun date movie. 3/5 stars from me.

Ashton Kutcher is just HOT. Seriously. So hot, I wanted to cry. Haha!

Sex & the City 2.The sequel to Sex and the City is one franchise film that gives women what they want: This time the men are in the background, and women's friendships and fantasies are where it's at.

With two years of marriage under her designer belt, Carrie Bradshaw-Preston is concerned that she and Big are turning into a boring old married couple. By her own admission, they're somewhere between wild, hot sex and making a baby. Big's content to stay at home and watch old movies, but curling up in front of the flat-screen is hardly his fashionista's idea of a good time: Marriage hasn't tamed Carrie's desire to walk the red carpet in a designer dress.

Meanwhile, the ever-sexual Samantha is leading the way through the menopause maze with a hormone cocktail of pills and potions, not to mention a few new positions. The overachieving Miranda? Still the same old workaholic, but now she's got a boorish bully for a senior partner. Finally, there's the lovely Charlotte. She seems to have gotten everything she ever wanted, but motherhood is making her come unhinged.

Just when the women are coming down from the nuptial bliss and starting to lament the stress of "having it all," along comes one Sheik Khalid, who invites Samantha to do public relations for his majestic hotels: "One week in Abu Dhabi," as the trailers have been putting it excitedly, "all expenses paid." The royal holiday takes our four liberated heroines to the "new" Middle East, setting in motion a comedy of manners complete with many an Islamic caricature and cross-cultural faux pas.

You don't have to be a fan of Sex and the City to appreciate the kitsch humor here. Part TV-series sequel, part Hollywood sendup, SATC 2 is all satire. It's hard to miss that this film is making gentle fun of itself, of the franchise's materialism, even of its own cinematic allusions.

And, of course, this latest outing is bound to entertain the true fans — legions of them — for whom the central players (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall) do a decent job of reviving the sense of silly sisterhood always shared by its core sorority. Who knows? Maybe we'll see more of these ladies in the future. If Carrie and Big decide to try their hands at parenthood, the next Bringing Up Baby might have, you know, an actual kid in it — a child festooned, no doubt, in the latest fashions.

I don't mind watching this again, with my girlfriends of course. =)

I wanted to catch Prince of Persia but the schedule just didn't cut it. Maybe next time, together with Knight & Day, Eclipse, The Back-Up Plan? Hehe..

I felt better. Thanks for the nice date, Cinema.

- TIRED -

I finally cracked last Monday.

The week before was pretty exhausting, 80% mentally. When I thought it was over, a new thing ready to start. I felt like I didn't get the time to get to the surface to take a breath. I felt so suffocated.

I held my tears as soon as my boss handed me another project. Suddenly the feeling of energy drained out to the very last drop, just kicked in. I sat at my cubicle and trying to pull myself together, you know, taking this as another challenge. It was until that jerk just came out of his room, asking about the thing he handed to me a few minutes ago and then bamm! He slammed the door.

I stared at my computer, still couldn't believe THAT just happened. Out of consciousness, I cursed him under my breath and walked out of the room.

Couldn't he asked nicely about it? How about thanking or pat on the back for completing previous project last week?

I cried like crazy at home (sorry Fozz for the suara kambing). Not because I was sad my boss slammed the door. But I was just so tired for the past weeks and a little appreciation would be nice. But no, he decided to act like a jerk.

I.Am.Tired.

Have you ever feel like that? You know, like tired tired? Energy drained and sleeping or resting won't make it go away?

I was (and still am) feeling that way.

I didn't talk to my boss the whole day, like I care.

My rebel mode is switched on.

- UPDATES -

It's not that I'm saying goodbye to blogging but the fact that I just don't have time these few months, it's quite frustrating.

It's almost the end of our financial year.
Justify Full
End of financial year means: appraisal to be done, KPIs to be reviewed, ratings to be discussed and moderated, promotions to be submitted, increments and bonuses to be calculated. People's bonuses are at stake wey!

Due to that hectic crapness in my life, I just didn't get the time to actually sit down and share the things that had been going on.

So, what's up?

1. Twins Turned Two-Seven

Happy belated Birthday Paujiana & Banum!

We heart you big time!

2. Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Mizot & Apis!

Congratulations to Jasara & Haziq!

Congratulations to Carl & Elisa!

Also, congratulations to Ruby & Ikhmal! Congratulations to Farina & Hadi! Congratulations Lennta' & Hubby! (Sorry didn't make it to your wedding, clashed with other weddings..)

3. QafTalina's Day

One of my bestfriend is married. We were there to help out with the last minute touch-up on the hantaran, berinai, bringing her wedding cake + cupcakes safely to Malacca.

I got to admit, I cried during the akad. The moment the pakcik witness said it's 'good to go' (translation: sah!), tears just rolled down my cheeks. I looked at Fozz and she was avoiding my eyes. I looked at Kuza, she was looking up the ceiling, trying to hold the tears. Thank God Nana and Nadiah were busy taking the pictures. It was emotional.

We had fun, singing none stop, her mak andam and photographer just amazed how our energy didn't drain out a bit. Fine, we were tired before bersanding malam but while lying down on the floor, next to the hantaran, Nana and I started to sing KRU song. Later joined by Kuza and the whole 'Glee' casts.

Before we went back to KL after a tiring but fun weekend, we sang "Cinta di Akhir Garisan"..live! Haha! Singing karaoke in public, in front of strangers, at our bestfriend's wedding? CHECKED!

Congratulations Nattalina & Qaf!

4. Mara Loan

Dad's been bugging me to check on my Mara Loan balance. So I did and I kept quiet for a few minutes, not believing the balance on the screen.

As at June 2010, baki RM 124.08.

Are you f-kidding me? Yippie!

5. Mummy in Town

Mum's been in town since 11th June, to attend a weeding on the 12th and also Carl's wedding the week after. She stayed at my place for the whole week and prepared proper meal for me.

On the second day, she prepared fried noodle for dinner and keropok. I ate like there was no tomorrow, I almost cried. It was so delicious (though it was just a simple fried noodle). I missed her cooking so bad. Or am I missing proper meals?!

The week after Carl's wedding, Mom will be staying will Abang. Abang was using "grandchildren wants Mama Tok", but I know that's just excuses. Dad's been calling Mom, asking when she's coming back to KB, he couldn't stand the smell of the cats' poo. Semua itu alasan! Haha!

Since Carl's reception will be on the 3rd of July, so Mom is back in KB. She'll be back.

6. Time to Payback

I need to qada' puasa for 8 days. With Mom at my place, I managed to qada' 2 days of my puasa and then, lingkup. Period. August is just around the corner, sempat ke?

7. PeterPorn

A few years back in Bandung..

CheMek & Idya: Pak, tunjuk la mane rumah Ariel.
Pak Supir: Ni minati Ariel ni, nggak bagus, nggak baik.
CheMek: Koknya dia nyanyi lagu Dewa "Cintaku Tertinggal di Malaysia", ditujunya pada saya pak!
Idya: Perasan! Saya la pak!
Pak Supir: Nggak bagus orangnya. Dia dimana2 bisa aja..(
he was referring to Ariel having sex)..dibelakang pentas jugak bisa. Ini bukan cerita direka-reka dong!

CheMek & Idya looked at each other.

CheMek & Idya: Eh, nggakkk..nggakkk mungkinnn..(sambil menggeleng laju)

But now, cilakak lu Ariel!

8. Movies

Due to work, I just didn't have the time to do what I love to do best; MOVIES. I haven't watch Prince of Persia. Me? The Queen of Movies belum tgk Prince of Persia?!
(Jeng! Jeng! Jeng!)

I will catch a movie soon, movies and it's gonna be back-to-back baby!

Me missing summer movies? Suprising huh? I need to get my groove back!
